Batèm

Thursday night a friend of ours (Noelgens) told us he was getting baptized Friday morning. He didn't know what time it would be, but he knew it would be early in the morning. At 5:30 a.m. we got a phone call from his witness (Jimmy) saying they were getting ready to start.

We jumped out of bed, got dressed and headed out to try and find where this place was where he was getting baptized. We got to our locked gate and the guard was asleep, we couldn't find the key, but thankfully the day guard was just arriving and had a key to let us out. We could hear the singing, but it was dark and we had a hard time finding the path to the lake. As we got there, he had already been baptized but we got to participate in the prayer and blessing. As they sang, they blessed him by touching his head and working down to his feet. This was a very exciting experience for us because we have spoken with him in the past about the need for baptism.

A few of the highlights of the past month.......

Campfire and singing at the Children's Home

These were some of the homes we helped build last March,
this is the finished product. It was neat to be able to see some of the
friends we made there again and see how they set up their houses.

Shea and Gayle working on finishing the porch ceilings.

Reuniting with some of the cute little friends

One day we visited where Shea and Sheila teach Bible classes at a government housing project.
Here is the team acting out the three Hebrew children in the fiery furnace.
After the lesson, we played soccer with the children and some of us went to visit some of the people in their homes. The ladies wanted to have our girls. It is interesting how they can't even care for their own children sometimes, and yet they all want to have their own girls from America.

Jayla with a little girl from an orphanage we visited.

A view of the terrace farming that you see from the Baptist Mission.

Last Sunday we went to the church in the Dominican, we had a delicious lunch and fellowship at Tom and Laurie Mohlers home.

After lunch we visited the Aquaducts. Kenslie made a new friend Bianca, one of the new missionary families in the D.R.

The group of friends from Cornerstone that just came to be with us these last two weeks.
May the Lord richly bless them for their time here!
